Update.

Hello book-lovers, 

I just want you all to know that I am so sorry we are not currently offering a home delivery service. 

I honestly would love to offer an order and delivery service for you, however I feel we have a civic responsibility to remain closed for a short while for the good of our customers and our crew and community.

I strongly believe in the power of browse-ability, of being a bricks and mortar bookshop, a place to peruse, meander and chat. 
Sadly we are not set up for web ordering but I am working with IT teams to get our bookshop inventory online, this is all understandably moving much slower than expected. 

We are currently taking the decision to not attempt to offer any kind of home delivery service either, our front line delivery and postal workers have seen a huge rise in their workload and I feel it best not to add to their burden. 

I know everyone is stuck indoors and we all know why, I sincerely hope that you have enough reading material to see you through! If not maybe wipe down the covers of some old favourites and chuck some over to your neighbour with a polite note they return the favour?!

This is an incredibly difficult decision, but these are difficult times. 

I hope you understand and I hope to see you on the other side of this madness.

Sadly we will be closed until further notice.

We will be back, we shall just be temporarily hibernating, our priority now is you lovely booklovers and our booksellers. Community.

COVID UPDATE.

Booklovers of Beckenham, 

It is with a heavy heart that I admit defeat in the face of such adversity and have decided to temporarily close the bookshop. 

We will close at 3pm on Tuesday 24th March until further notice. 

Outstanding orders

If you have an order placed with us we will be calling to suggest you come collect asap, if you have outstanding orders, these will still be going through the usual systems. Orders placed Saturday past are winging their way to us today as usual.

You will still be able to order books from us, although it will be a slower process than usual.

Covid Update

BOOKSHOP UPDATE!

Hello there, 

It's a strange world out there at the moment and we want to do everything we can to serve our customers and get books out to people for as long as we can. 

We also want to protect our lovely community and in light of the current covid crisis we have decided to open for shorter hours as of next week. 

From Monday 23rd March we will be open from 9am to 3pm. 

We will be taking phone calls and checking our answerphone constantly, call us on 020 8650 9744 or email us help@beckenhambooks.com, we will endeavour to get back to you pronto and help in any way we can. 

We can also deliver to you! 

Our wonderful booksellers are happy to deliver books to you, in a non contact sport kinda way, and our lovely wholesalers are able to send books out to you direct, for only a small charge. 

We want to do everything we can to keep our community safe and sane so give us a shout, we're here to help.
